Americo Salvatore Meneguzzi, CA, CPA
Americo's professional work as a financial leader spans more than 32 years. The majority of his career was with the Metropolitan Separate School Board(MSSB) where he rose to Deputy Director of Education, Business and Finance Assistant Secretary and Treasurer. Due to his watchful eye never did the board experience a deficit in its annual budget when enrollment increased five-fold to over 125,000 students.
Concurrently as treasurer he was also the chairman, trustee, and administrator of a staff pension plan with the MSSB. He was also a member of the Ontario Ministry of Education Task Force on Funding Elementary and Secondary Education and a non-government panel resource to a property tax working group for the Fair Tax Commission. Americo furthermore authored financial reviews of the of the York Region Separate School Board and the Lambton County S.S. Board for the Ontario Government. Commercially, he participated in ventures to develop land and construct a secondary school in Toronto; build seniors housing in Ontario; and developed a condo hotel in Mexico.
Serving the community, he has had roles such as President of the Ontario Association of School Business Officials, Vice-President of the Canadian Centre for Italian Culture and Education, Treasurer and Chancellor of the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and Treasurer for the Hope for Children Foundation Toronto.
