Hi Joann
I am from Gatineau but I did consult with Dr. Shram and Dr. Benoit before I ended out going to Montreal. There is a support group in Ottawa but they haven't had a group meeting in a long time. Check out the Citizen in the Coming Events section and sometimes there is a little blurb about the group. Nick Dinelle used to be the main contact and he is a great support. I think if you check out the Support Chapters (I can't remember what it is called) on the main page of this website, all of the information for the group is there. They were always willing to talk.
Hope that helps...Send me a message if you need more info.

Translab surgery February 2007 for then 5 cm AN, in Montreal, QC, by the VERY gifted hands of Dr. Saliba and Dr. Bojanowski at Notre Dame Hospital.
What a difference a couple of years make!!! |

Hello...there doesn't seem to be too much activity on this message board but I'll post up anyways! I have just been diagnosed and am waiting in line to see a neurosurgeon. Not sure what to expect other than possibly a wait and hold for the next few years. I never thought I'd hear myself say that I have a brain tumor...Just wanted to say HI! _________________ 11mm little guy...diagnosed Feb 18, 2009

| Hi Joann...I just joined this forum , & getting my feet wet as it were. Diagnosed this past summer & I think we are on the same info gathering path. My AN is 7.5mm x 4.5mm left side. I have lst 30% hearing & have a fairly constant / annoying "ringing". I am waiting for my 1st consult with Dr. Schramm / Benoit. They removed a rather large AN from one of my best friends' back in the mid '90's |

Gerry,
When you meet with Dr. Benoit, make sure you ask him to refer you for a consult with Dr. Malone at the Ottawa Hospital for radiation treatment. I was impressed by what Malone had to say.

P.S. This summer, I just went through the exact same thing you are going througn now. |
